To keep our focus entirely on you whilst in salon, we won’t take any phone calls during your appointment.
If you’re an existing client, simply send through some details including your name, the service you require, appointment time or preference and your best contact number.
It’s quite similar if you’re a new client here too, the only difference being we will do a complimentary consultation prior to booking. We can discuss all your hair goals, timing, price and maintenance beforehand so there is no surprises on the day of your appointment.
What retail brand do you stock?
Our retail range is Goldwell. A beautiful, premium yet affordable leader in the Haircare industry. There are many options in the Goldwell range but choosing to keep it simple and minimal; we are going with Dual Senses and Style Sign. Do I need a consultation if I’m a new client?
Yes, but only for colour! We allow 15 minutes, and they are free! It is the best way to figure out what you’re wanting to achieve, whether its achievable, if it fits your budget, how regularly you need to maintain the colour/style etc. If you’re a new client only wanting a haircut however this need not apply, we allow an extra 15mins for your first visit to include a consultation.
We know there will be circumstances where you physically cannot make it into the salon for a consultation and then come back for the appointment, we take this into consideration and can always come to an arrangement if necessary.
Is there a cancellation policy?
We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible when needing to cancel or reschedule. Ideally 48 hours' notice gives us time to fill the space, anything under 24 hours can be tricky and a waste of a sought-after time slot. With certain clients and larger services, deposits may be taken and held when needing to reschedule your appointment.
How long will my appointment take?
This depends purely on the service you are having. Most colour and cut appointments will be a minimum of 2.5 hours and could range up to 4 hours for larger colour services. We will never rush your colour work. Rushing colour will more often than not result in undesired levels of lift, tones and sacrificing grey coverage.
Haircut only appointments are a much shorter visit.
Who will be doing my hair?
Right now, Studio Mae is a one-gal show! Hannah opened this salon with every intention of delivering amazing one on one service. This eliminates the ‘hot potato’ feel some clients can receive elsewhere. Which means from go to whoa you’ll have your stylists undivided attention. It’s only a small space, there’s no need for too many hands.
What type of payment options do you take?
We accept payments via EFTPOS, bank transfer, or cash. We also have gift certificates available. If we’re being honest, there wasn’t a huge amount of interest in Afterpay from our clients, but this is certainly something we will be looking into down the track, if necessary.
